A retired cabinet maker Henk Verhoeff from Auckland, New Zealand creates one-of-a-kind furniture pieces. Henk’s creations went viral when his daughter shared these works with fellow woodworkers in their Facebook group.
People were absolutely amazed. Obviously, Henk has mastered a one-of-a-kind furniture-making style. Almost all of them are displayed in his house. Cabinet making is basically his hobby and passion. When asked about his style, Henk said: “I describe my style of furniture as broken and weird. I like making weird furniture, something that you don’t see in a shop.”
“It’s hard to say how long each piece takes me. It’s unset times during the week and it could easily be 80-100 hours. Sometimes details or angles don’t work and I have to start again. I use recycled New Zealand pine, mostly, but if I can get my hands on some Rimu, I will also use that.”
Despite lots of people taking interest in buying these magical-looking dressers, Henk tells that, as of now, they aren’t for sale.
