“It’s Great To Be Alive!” was a Police Safety Manual Booklet in the 1950s that were written for kids. The booklet outlines the common life-threatening situations that a pre-teen or teenager may encounter and the best way to handle the situation.
This Police Safety Manual Booklet offered tips that modern-day kids would probably laugh at, but they are still important no matter which generation you come from. The tips in the book were comprised of one-sentence statements that are easy to understand. Some of them include “Police officers are your friends,” “Screeching brakes… but too late… Tommy is crippled for life,” and “Don’t play in abandoned iceboxes, they are death traps!”
