It was back in his school days that Toshihiko Hosaka started using sandboxes for his canvases nearly 20 years ago. When you look at his work, you will realize that it is different from sand art and the granules of sand look like they are a type of clay.
He does not make use of any molds or adhesive and to make the molds, all that he uses is sand. However, Hosaka makes use of a hardening spray for his sculpture once it is complete so that the sand is saved from erosion for at least some time.
He completed the Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival Festival this year along with some of the most noted sand sculptures.
