Have you ever heard of a canyon called Fjaðrárgljúfur? It is a canyon located in the southeastern region of Iceland and it is considered to be one of the most beautiful canyons in the world. The canyon is 1 ¼ kilometers long and its depth is 330 feet. On the bottom of the canyon, the Fjar River flows right through the middle of it. Scientists say this canyon was formed after millions of years of flowing water coming out of the glaciers through the rocks and then progressively eroding. Nature also created a walking path which you can take along the eastern edge of the canyon. It is on this path where people can view the breathtaking scenery of the glacial brooks and the plains that exist below.
