A story like this is great for many reasons. First, it shows us the power of compassion. With every struggle comes an opportunity to make things better in the lives of others – whether they have one leg, two legs or a hundred.
These dogs are not ‘predators’ but are responding to an environment that forces them to act aggressively for their own survival. It also demonstrates the massive power of treatment. The way we interact with our pets has a direct effect on their psyche and in turn, their behaviours.
These dogs show that we have the power to turn loving and gentle creatures into violent offenders, but we also have the power to stop these kinds of things from happening.
By opening up their doors and hearts, these new owners have proven that we all have the power to bring out the friendliness of our pets and to end their abuse.
Please remember to share. Dogs should never be considered “natural born killers”. We, as humans, are the ones who reinforce such behaviour and we can ensure that it never happens again. Great organizations like the ASPCA know that and so do you; help them raise dog fighting awareness. Source: Best Friends Animal Society, the Bark Post.
