Teacher Lost Her 16 y/o Cat, So Her Students Surprised Her With 2 Rescue Kittens

Tonya Andrews is a teacher at Joshua High who had a loving pet cat Blondie for 16 long years. After her beloved old kitty died in her very arms on the way to vet, Tonya was understandably upset by the loss.

“I cried pretty much every period that next day at school,” she told the Huffington Post.

Always a popular teacher with her students, she didn’t quite expect to be treated to homemade cupcakes ad glowers from her class after they found out about her loss.

Another surprising addition to the feel-good package was two new kittens!

“I was smiling so big by then because I could feel the love of the class,” said Andrews. “But then, Rachel walked in holding two precious kittens.”

She loved the gesture but assumed it was more of a pick me up, and that the kittens belonged to someone else.

“Then she held them out to me and said they were mine…my heart can now experience happiness again.”
