Animal Shelter Celebrates Their Happiest Day Ever Because All Kennels Are Empty

When an animal shelter has no kennels that are filled, it is a good sign because it means all the dogs and cats have already been adopted. This is the case with the Human Society of the Pikes Region in Colorado. They started an adoption campaign called “Bring Them Home for the Holidays,” which waived the fees for adoption on all dogs and cats that were over 5-years-old. This special campaign runs from December 18th all the way until New Year’s Eve. Since this time period falls over Christmas, it creates the perfect opportunity for a family to bring home a new pet for the holiday.

In just one day alone, the shelter adopted out 23 dogs and 25 cats. As more dogs and cats are brought into the shelter, they will likely get picked up within the week.

“What happens when your last available dog gets adopted? Volunteers jump into the kennels to celebrate!”
