Mr. Riu is a Japanese artist who has taken paper cuts to a whole new level by creating some of the most detailed and intricate designs you will likely ever find on a piece of paper.
He makes use of a craft knife to meticulously cut away sections of the paper to create designs such as mandalas and other mesmerizing patterns, with the method used known has a zentangle technique as well finding a ‘rhythmic sense’ when papercutting.
A quick look at his work will definitely make you wonder how much patience and skill that must be required to complete such complex and wonderful designs, but Mr. Riu elaborates on what drives him to do such amazing art.
