The family came out after they got better, they were interested in the team as this was the first time they were seeing someone other than their family. They were a family of Old Believers, belonging to a group which have been tortured for a long time and hold onto the same belief and rituals since the 17th century.
The Lykov couple had two children back in 1936 and they have escaped to the snow forest with their children because the atheist Bolshevik regime was dreadful for the Old Believers.
Lykov Family the made the cabin themselves and adopted it as their home. They were six people, Karp Lykov, his wife and their four children Savin, Natalia, Dmitry and Agafia. Dimitry and Agafia were born in the forest thus the scientists were the first group of people they met other than their family.
Their pastime activity was telling stories, they were sharing their dreams as stories and sometimes narrate accounts from the bible.
