An engineering marvel, the Stoosbahn broke the previous steepness record held by another railway in Switzerland.

The cylindrical carriages ensure that passengers can stay upright on the incline. The floors tilt and adjust to the slope as the carriages climb at a gradient of 110% at its steepest point (47 degrees). It can keep 34 passengers.
