Beautiful Photos Capture Powdery Snow Blanketing the Acropolis

Bet’cha never thought you’d see snow in Greece, did you?  Well think again.  In the photos below, you can see the beautiful Acropolis sitting on its mountaintop home with a thin layer of snow sitting on around it.  If you live somewhere where snow is a regular occurrence, you’re thinking “Cool, looks neat”, but this thin layer of snow completely shut down most of the systems when it started to fall.

This untold of snowfall was due to a Siberian cold front brushing through this normally warm climate, causing for a slight snowfall to show its face and cause panic and intrigue amongst those who were visiting the scene.  You have to admit, though, it’s a pretty nice sight to see and it will certainly give you a story to share with others when you get back home.  Now whether they believe it or not depends on how many photos you take!

The snow-covered Acropolis is a sight to behold.
