What This Mom And Dad Did For Their Family Of 6 Took Serious Guts. But I Absolutely Love It.

For many people, childhood is one of the best times of their life. One thing that we can all say about our childhood is that because everything is new, childhood is one big adventure. Now, imagine if your own childhood was even more adventurous! This family might just have accomplished that.

Want to know how?

These parents, one a paramedic, work part time on building a dream home for their family of six. The most exciting thing about it? The dream home that these four  children will have to share is actually made of what was once a school bus. The bus has been converted by the parents, with Nina, the children’s mother documenting everything in this photo diary.

The first step was buying a school bus (check).

Next, was completely ripping out whatever was left inside…

And then building from the ground up.

Their “bus” was going to include a working bathroom…

And even hardwood flooring.

The Nelsons had 4 kids, so they constructed bunk beds in front of the master bed.

The Nelsons set up the bus to be lived on all of the time.

They moved in before it was completely finished. They just couldn’t wait.

Being a kid on this bus would have been a dream come true.

There was a full kitchen and bathroom.

With more counter space than I have in my own apartment.

As well as storage.

Let the adventures begin!

The four children share two bunk beds, and the bus turned dream home is now finished with a fully functioning master suite, bathroom kitchen and living area. The next time you feel like you’re feeling creative, just think; you can follow the Nelson’s example and take it to a whole new level. Source: Flickr: Nina Nelson & ShalomMama – Share this mom’s awesome project with others by clicking the button below.
