In 2022, Qatar hosts the FIFA World Cup tournament, and thousands of people from around the world are visiting the country. So, the host country built a fan village to meet the need for accomodation. The FIFA World Cup Fan village offers double or twin suite bedrooms with tea& coffee making facilities, a mini- fridge, bed linen, toilets, wi-fi, and bathroom towels in each room. There are also on-site facilities such as food outlets where one can try a range of cuisines.
The fan village is in a short distance away from Lusail Shooting Club, Losail International Circuit, and Lusail Stadium. In addition, the guests can explore tourist sites including Katara beach and cultural village by using the nearest subway station. However, the fan village gets criticisms as the cabins look like shipping containers, and their placement is dense. There is also the concern of noise as there will be over a million guests staying in the village. In addition, people complain about the rubbish piles on the site, narrowness of the cabins, and the noise coming from the air conditioning unit.
