The Kloof Road house is a piece of architecture that quite unique. Not many, if any, other houses can claim that every room in the house opens to the outdoors.
Nico van der Meulen Architects designed this house special to have doors that go from every room outside.
Many of the doors are made from glass with no frames so even during bad weather you can watch out the doors as if there was nothing there.
The second floor also has glass doors and a balcony that looks out into the backyard. The house is full of luxury components such as an outdoor pool, outdoor dining areas, and grass space.
A fish pond wraps around a portion of the house with glass siding so that you can see it from the yard below. Very few expenses appeared to have been spared in the making of this house.
All of the furniture and design for the inside of the house was picked out by M Square Lifestyle Necessities, a company and showroom started by the architect Nico’s wife and son, Santa, and Rudolph.
The furniture and design of the house have a distinctly modern tone to fit the predominantly glass and metal materials used for the house itself.
