Graphic Designer Matches Illustrations with Arabic Words and English Translation

Mahmoud Tammam is a graphic designer from Egypt who has created a series of works which shows Arabic words illustrated with visual representations that signify what they actually mean. For example, Tammam illustrated the Arabic word for the octopus to have tentacles where the curves of the word are. The purpose of these pictorial translations is to help people who don’t know the Arabic language to better understand Arabic words through the illustrations that they’ve been modified with. Underneath each pictorial translation is the regular version of the Arabic word as well as the English translation.

You can see more examples of Tammam’s illustrated language on his Instagram and Behance.
