This Woman Quit Her Job To Knit Sweaters For Abandoned Greyhounds

Love looking at adorable dogs in sweaters? Check out this story. It features a series of previously abandoned and waiting to be re-homed greyhounds, looking festive and beautiful in hand-knit sweaters and hats made by one motivational 50-year-old mom, Jan Brown. She quit her job in order to dedicate her time to making more of these sweaters and hats for those dogs that so desperately need warmth when the cold winter air seeps into their thing fur. She uses the proceeds from her business in a donation to animal homeless shelters around the world for greyhounds, hoping that her efforts will help all of the abandoned dogs in the world get home someday. It’s a common goal I’m sure that all of us would like to see accomplished, too. Consider donating to an animal shelter in need today.

Jan Brown has knitted over 300 sweaters for greyhounds

“I can’t think of anything I would rather do than knit woolly clothing for dogs,” she told the Metro

“I have spent over 4,000 hours knitting but it’s all worthwhile when I see them sporting their new jumpers and hats”

“It’s really sweet seeing them in their festive Christmas jumpers and it’s giving much needed help to the rescue centres”

“Greyhounds have very thin fur so they really feel the cold during the winter so my gifts help keep them warm during walks”

“There are so many dogs that won’t be rehomed this Christmas so for many of them it’s the only gift they will get”
