Minnesota’s architecture studio, Coulson, has designed ‘Disappear Retreat’ as a waste-free, water-free, energy-free house. Disappear Retreat is a transparent, stargazing, triple-zero building, dissolving the impact on the environment physically and aesthetically. This compact, prefabricated, off-grid dwelling offers an affordable, minimalist lifestyle in resources, cost, and design. “Our passion for the environment is not only technical, but extends to the experience of nature,” said the architects. They wanted to create a place where locals tied themselves to the plant in an intense way. The building is completely covered with glazing, which allows the building to blend visually into its surroundings.
