The Robert W. Coleman School in Baltimore is one of the most unique schools you would ever have come across. The reason is that, there are no detentions at all in the Baltimore Elementary.
Yes, they have a room instead called Mindful Moment Room, which is brightly colored and a oasis of calm. This is the only punishment in Baltimore Elementary and it is a windowless detention room where unruly kids are punished. This program has been based on a partnership with a local non-profit organization called Holistic Life Foundation. The results till date have largely been impressive and all the students are happy due to this type of detention. Also, ever since the time they started with this program, there have not been any suspensions and Robert W. Coleman is a highly promising and happy school. Scroll down to have a look at the photos.
