After the recent FIFA busts from the FBI, the decision to host the World Cup in 2022 in Qatar is drawing more and more criticism. Amid allegations of corruption, and more and more people coming forward to bring light to the truth about Qatar’s horrible human rights record, people are increasingly demonstrating that they are not happy about this decision. This has generated some interesting means of convincing regular World Cup sponsors to pull out of the competition.
Much of the World Cup architecture in Qatar has been built by slave labour from Nepal, and it is estimated that over 900 workers have died so far in the building of the various stadiums that will be used. Brands such as Coca-Cola now having their logos replaced by images showing or hinting at the slavery.
