Travel by airplane should be fun. Maybe you are arriving at an exotic destination. A business deal of the century could be waiting you. First you have to take off and safely arrive at your destination. Good luck with these frightfully uninviting airports !
Barra Airport, Scotland
Scotland is lovely. History, music and nobility. King Poseidon doesn’t share well. The airport landing strip get covered by high tide here. Being King of the sea doesn’t mean he has good manners.
Gibraltar Airport
When you land in Gibraltar, you can take a boat or a taxi. The problem is you might run right into one. The highway, the runway and the marina are all together. It depends on how you well you can land.
Tocantins International Airport, Honduras
Angles and range of motion should be left to folks who love math. They are no place for planes. The runway was built at a 45 degree angle to maintain the mountain range. Did we mention all the mountains, because it is a tight squeeze for your plane. Otherwise it is lovely.
Paros Airport, Bhutan
With the wind in your hair, you can go anywhere. Not a good idea for a runway. Bhutan is known for high desert winds that whirl sand. So not only is it hard to see, it is hard to stay level. Your plane must keep a even speed to safely make this strip
LaGuardia Airport, New York City
New York is the city that never sleeps. It is also one of the busiest. LaGuardia has planes take off constantly. You can wait for takeoff while looking at beautiful Flushing Bay. Better yet, hop you don’t have to land in it.
