The Death Of Conversation: Photographer Captures People’s Obsession With Their Phones

Death Of Conversation

Smartphones have become massively popular in recent years, its understandable considering how much easier they can make people’s lives. Being able to connect instantly to the internet and have information instantly available at our fingertips is undeniably impressive. Sadly it appears to have come at a prices, with the traditionally means of communication – that is using our mouths and eyes to have a conversation – is seemingly on its way out.

These photos showcase how easy it is for people to be In very close proximity with one another yet be miles away as they remain glued to their mobile devices. What better way to avoid social interaction than to spend most of the night looking at a screen?

Back before mobile phones were a mainstay, people would spend their social hours actually socialising, it seems so easy these days to only half participate. Some might find it easier to socialise in their digital worlds, others may not even realise they are doing it. As the years go on will there be a generation of people who are better communicating on their phone than they are in person? I hope not, but it is hard not to picture it upon viewing these photographs.
