A sinkhole in Guatemala City is 60 feet in width and 300 feet in depth.
In 2010, an enormous sinkhole, measuring a staggering 60 feet in width and 300 feet (90 m) in depth, opened in Guatemala City up right in the heart of the city. The ground collapsed suddenly, taking a three-story building that was used as a factory. The phenomenon occurred for a combination of reasons, including Tropical Storm Agatha, the Pacaya Volcano eruption, and leakage from sewer pipes.
