Turtle-Shaped Floating City with 60,000 People Capacity

Italian designer Pierpaolo Lazzarini has designed a turtle-shaped yacht concept which he describes as a terayacht. In this concept, a turtle-shaped floating city called Pangeos can house up to 60,000 people and offers several commercial and entertainment facilities. These include shopping centers, casinos, and parks. The city will also have ship and aircraft ports for transportation while the yacht is at sea.

If ever built, Pangeos would be the largest floating structure in the world with its 1,800 feet long and 2,000 feet wide size.

According to Lazzarini’s design, the turtle-shaped floating city would be equipped with nine engines with 16,800 horsepower. The design also allows gaining power from the breaking of the waves, so the ship would be eco-friendly. Moreover, the solar panels on the rooftops would meet the city’s energy need.

Lazzarini would love to see Pangeos come to life, and he thinks Saudi Arabia would be the perfect place. The Lazzarini Design studio estimates the construction price as $8 billion and the time as eight years. The studio has also created an NFT crowdfunding initiative where people can buy virtual places from the floating city. So, they both have an access to the Pangea Metaverse and will have given a deposit in case of construction.
