Animal shelters in the United States have to take in more than 3.4 million cats each year according to ASPCA, with many of the poor kitties being abused or abandoned. While that number is heart-breaking enough, the fact that this doesn’t account for the homeless cats and those that never get the chance to be rescued makes it all the worse.
So when a kitten was left to die in a tied up plastic bag in Brazil, it was a small miracle that anyone even noticed, let alone stepped in to save the poor guy.
Luckily Aline Martins did just that. The teacher was out walking her dog and then came across a large plastic bag that was not only moving but making noise too. Upon quickly investigating she found the small abandoned kitten that was soaked to the bone and utterly terrified.
Not taking a second to think about it, she took him home and began to nurse him back to health herself. After giving him a wash and hand feeding him, she crafted a homemade kitty bed that he began to feel safe and secure in.
After a quick recovery, his back to full health and has become well acquainted with his new home and loving owner!
Aline named the beautiful kitty Cindy. A year after the rescue… look at her now!
