Sofia Costanza Brigida Villani Scicolone, known professionally as Sophia Loren, is an Italian actress. She was named by the American Film Institute as one of the greatest female stars of Classical Hollywood cinema.

Sophia met Italian film producer Carlo Ponti when she was 15 years old, Carlo was 37 years old at the time. They first wed in 1957, but their marriage was annulled five years later. They remarried in 1966 and remained married until Ponti’s death in 2007.
