As anyone that has been in love will say, it is less about the overly romantic moments and gestures and more about the small and seemingly pointless moments between partners that truly embody being in love. Nidhi Chanani is an illustrator who has beautifully captured these moments using simple drawings to show the everyday moments that make a loving relationship special. These include the simple things in life such as cooking, cuddling, talking and of course laughing with your better half. Not surprisingly, Chanani takes inspiration from her own marriage, with the loving moments shared between her and her husband helping her to illustrate these blissful moments of love. The idea that love is universal and inclusive to everyone is also a big bar of her work, even while drawing from her own experiences. My work is drawn from my perspective,” she says “I’m a brown woman in love with a white man. I also draw gay couples. I make an effort to show the love of mixed race couples and diverse relationships.” Chanani plans to release her first graphic novel next year, which will be titled ‘Pashmina’
