Luxury Ghost Village Resided by Cattle in China

In 2010, the Greenland Group bought up hectares of land around Shenyang, China, and started a construction project called the State Guest Mansion. The project aimed to build a retreat for the rich people in the region. Soon, 260 European-style villas with marble floors appeared in the area. However, the estate developer left the project unfinished in 2018 without any clear explanation. Therefore, the property turned into a luxury ghost village. Today, the village is not completely abandoned, but some farmers use the place for raising cattle, and they plow the gardens.

Local farmers use the ghost village to keep their cattle and plow the gardens between mansions.

Although there is no certain reason why the estate is left half-finished, local people claim that it is because the government cut off the excessive funding, leaving several developers with massive debt. As a result, several ghost towns have appeared around China. So, the State Guest Mansion can simply be one of these failed projects.
