Westminster Abbey, London

The construction of Westminster Abbey took place between 960 and 1065, and it went through a reconstruction in Gothic style during the 13th century. It has been the traditional place for all the corronations since the coronation of William the Conqueror in 1066. Additionally, 16 royal weddings took place in Westminster Abbey since 1100. It has also been a burial site for 3300 prominent people involving monarchs, prime ministers, poet laureate, actors and scientists. For this reason, the Westminster Abbey is occasionally called “Britain’s Valhalla.”
