Ducks Get Their Own ‘Duck Lanes’ Near The Canal Walkways In London

To create awareness among people about ducks and other animals, The Canal & River Trust of United Kingdom has created temporary duck lanes in the waterway paths present in Birmingham, Manchester and London. A marking has been painted and the demarcated lanes are exclusively meant for ducks and the lines are marked using a stencils that have the shape of a duck.

Also, the photos of this duck walkway are getting viral on the internet and are being shared with the hashtag #sharethespace.

The main motive behind this was to create awareness that even the ducks present in the area need space to move around. The Canal River Trust is responsible for the maintenance of the 2000 miles of inland waterways present throughout England and Wales. However, we still do not know if the ducks would also follow rule and actually walk in their area. canalrivertrust.org.uk (h/t: treehugger)
