Heatherwick Studio has created a kinetic glass structure at Woolbedding Gans in the UK. This glass and alunium structure can unfurl like a blooming flower in four minutes via a hydraulic mechanism. This system allows the Glasshouse to close on cold days and open on warm days, making it possible to grow subtropical plants all year long.

This diamond shaped structure is a part od the Silk Road Garden, taking its name from the historic trade route between Asia and Europe. The Glasshouse adds a modern touch to the 18th century garden where there are 300 species of plants from 12 regions.
