Artist Uses Her Own Eyes as a Canvas for Work

Tal Peleg is an artist with a bit of a difference – her main canvas for work is her own eyes! A passion for illustration, photography and make up comes together in her work, simply known as eye-art. Her works contain a lot of different illustrations, including the likes of animals, and she attempts to use the natural shape of the eye to really showcase her talents and attention to detail. ‘Makeup is an amazing form of art, and I use it in order to make my eye tell a story. I don’t just paint on the eye, but try to use the shape of the eye and its natural curves as part of the illustration in a creative way’ Peleg explains. She finds inspiration in pretty much everything that she sees, using her keen eye to reinterpret it onto the eye and its surrounding area. What is more impressive is she manages to complete each piece of work on her own eye, using a variety of traditional make up tools including eye shadows, eyeliners and water colours that are all applied using small brushes. Each piece of eye art can take several hours to complete, so a lot of patience is required.
