Emma Watson Is Hiding Books Throughout the London Underground For Passengers to Find

Since 2012, organisation Books on the Underground has hidden countless books throughout the London Underground system in the hopes that it will encourage everyday commuters to pick up a book and have read before repeating the process for someone else to find.

Their self-described ‘book fairies’ have hidden various books throughout different points in the London Underground, hoping for sharp-eyed passengers to find both new and used books.

One of their most recently fairies just to so happened to be renowned actress Emma Watson. An avid reader herself, Watson recently stated her very own feminist book club ‘Our Shared Shelf’ on Goodreads.

She chose the most recent book to feature in the book club, Maya Angelou’s ‘Mom & Me & Mom’ as the book she would distribute for the organisation. Each book featured a handwritten note from the actress that welcomes the reader to their newly discovered book.

“Just one hundred copies were hidden on the Tube…” it reads. “Take special care of it and when you are finished please leave it on the Tube again for someone else to find.”

In addition to this, she encourages the individual to leave their thoughts and comments on the novel on her featured book club page on Goodreads.
