Body art involves using your body as the canvas for your artwork. It allows for plenty of imagination, as evidenced by Natalie Nalkes work. See how she ‘slices’ her hands as if they have been maimed in some freak accident or chewed off in horrific circumstances. It is of course just some really good artwork on her hands using pens, makers and paints to give the illusion of mission flesh and muscle. The effects work best when her hand is placed in front of a black background to really highlight the body art and let the illusion take effect. At a quick glance it really does look real on an almost unnerving level. A job well done!
