In Khlong Toei community, Thailand, a unique football pitch was developed in a congested area known to have no usable space. But the field was in such a way that it has many space scattered across it. In Thailand the favorite sport is football, so as to promote the cordial relationship among the inhabitant of the community, AP Thailand come up with an idea of designing a field for playing football. Although, this design is very unusual but has shown that creativity can go a long way in developing useful spaces.
We aim that other communities will emulate our idea and make the best use of any unused space in their vicinity to organize various events, with the view that “You can derive maximum benefit from any available spaces.”
The first football field in the world challenged the conventional rectangular field by the introduction of a new concept known as “Unusual Football Field.” The boundaries of the traditional rectangular field are being redefined by the Unusual Football Field. AP THAILAND which is a well-known estate developer invented this project in collaboration with CJ WORX which is a Thailand based digital agency. “Think Space” led them to the idea and they aim at transforming all small and irregular shaped field into football field so as to enable playing of football between teams. The main approach is to counter the belief that space is limited in order to illustrate that an individual’s “life can be changed by space.”
