Vivian the Dog Moves to Brooklyn is a children’s book penned by artist Mitch Boyer. Taking inspiration from his own life, the story details the adventure of a massive dachshund relocating to the big city with his owner.
Modeling his own pup, Boyer uses photoshop to create the effect of a huge dachshund that is a similar size to his owner. Now, Vivian is almost the same height as the six-foot-plus Boyer, and the photographs are truly adorable.
After frequently moving around the country for several years with Vivian in tow, the two have since settled down in Brooklyn, New York, and the experience of moving in and out of ten different homes in 5 years inspired Boyer to write a children’s book.
Funded by a Kickstarter campaign, Vivian the Dog Moves to Brooklyn depicts the larger than life Dachshund and her owner as they move into Brooklyn, with various hijinks likely to follow them during their adventure, with the goal of helping young children better understand why moving homes isn’t a bad thing.
