Look How Beautiful Tiny Creatures Look When Seen From Under A Scanning Microscope

Igor Siwanowicz, an inquisitive photographer, has come up with a new and wonderful set of photos. Have you imagined how a diving beetle would swim in water or just stay put on the surface? In the picture seen above is a microscopic image of a male Acilius sulcatus, or a diving beetle, which shows in detail the complexity of this tiny creature.

Igor, whose primary job is as a neurobiologist at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Janelia Farm Research Campus, has come up with these lovely photos. All the photos clicked are bright in color and have shapes that you would have never imagined before. A confocal laser scanning microscope is used to make these beautiful images, which focuses in detail to all the intricate features of these tiny creates.
