There are nearly four million refugees from Syria and the saddest part is that, nearly half of them are children. They are homeless, away from their family, scattered and helpless. Presently, they are put up in refugee camps, which is a trauma by itself. Despite the hardships they face on a regular basis, they have to lead their lives. Also add to it the fresh memories they have about the war and violence all around them. UNICEF plans to help them by constructing schools, so that the environment changes for them and they find it to be comfortable. However, there are 2.6 million of them who do not have access to schools and local organizations are not able to do anything for them.
Hence, Global Humanitaria has come up with an art therapy workshop that gives refugee children a chance to deal with the trauma they have faced over the years and vent it out by painting. They are hopeful that the children will forget the trauma they were subject to over a period of time.
