Casa Pere Brias
This Modernist Construction was concluded in 1903. Architect: Julián Jaime Garcia Núñez. Garcia Núñez, originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, is not a famous architect in Barcelona.
Casa Josep Creus Aymerich
This gem of a building is the work of Josep Masdeu Puigdemasa and was built between 1912 and 1914. Also notable are the balconies with elegant forged iron railings.
Casa Evelí Planells
Regarded as “the last of Catalan Modernism”, adorable Casa Evelí Planells, in fact, exudes more of a Rationalist vibe than proper Modernism. Some authors relate it to the German Expressionism movement. It is the work of a local architecture idol, Josep Maria Jujol. This 1924 construction is located on Diagonal Avenue, 332.
Casa Ferran Guardiola
Winter light and shade at Casa Ferran Guardiola, aka Casa China. This is a spectacular building designed in 1929 by Joan F. Guardiola for his brother Ferran. Online sources qualify it as a mix of Art Déco, Modernism with sprinkles of Oriental architecture, hence the nickname.⠀
Casa Josep Fiol
Casa Josep Fiol – built between 1901 and 1902, is certainly a showstopper. A wide range of architectural elements was used in the stunning façade (i.e. baroque crowing of the central gallery, different types of columns, gables, and lookout towers). Therefore its architecture is often classified as “eclectic”.
Casa Josefa Villanueva
Casa Francesc Carreras
Casa Francesc Carreras (1902) is a complex of three stunning buildings on the corner of Gran Via and Villarroel. It is the work of architect Antoni Millàs i Figuerola. The whole façade is covered with stone from Montjuic.
Casa Manuel Llopis Bofill
Designed by Antoni Maria Gallissà Soqué in 1902, this building also features sgraffito by master Josep M. Jujol. Chromaticism and an interesting combination of materials are the highlights here. Brick contrasts with the white stucco, iron contrasts with glass, and the glazed ceramics are just gorgeous scattered throughout.
Casas Ramos
This Modernist building with Medieval inspiration is the work of Jaume Torres i Grau and was built in 1906. The building is enormous with 3 different entrances/divisions, therefore “Casas” and not “Casa”.
