Imaginative Insects Formed From Resin and Brass by Hiroshi Shinno

Hiroshi Shinno is an artist from Japan who has created super realistic sculptures of fictional insects that do not really exist. Shinno used delicate flower petals and lively leaves to build these imaginative species into a physical work of art. The petals and leaves were actually cast from resin and then coated with acrylic paint. After that, the final model gets installed onto a brass base for display purposes.

Before Shinno begins building these insects, he sketches their initial design into an “Insect Diary” which he displays on his website for people to see.
