You may know all about racing, and you may even know about dog racing, but did you know that this cruel practice is still happening around the world? There are still precious greyhounds that are being forced to live lives of exploitation and hatred in which they are taught to believe they are worthless unless they race. Even when they win, they aren’t given the praise they crave, and have very miserable lives as a result.
Thankfully, the USA is coming to its senses and now there is one more state that has banned dog racing, a welcome relief to anyone who is looking for the rights of animals to be listened to.
While no one argues that we still have a long way to go, we can all agree that this law preventing dog racing in Arizona is a step in the direction of saving animals everywhere so that no one has to live a life of hazard or problems. There are many rescue agencies who are ready to give these soon to be rescued dogs new lives of fun and games.
Arizona is the 40th state to ban dog racing. The group GREY2K USA has been instrumental in this effort and is committed to ending the practice across the country.
