The Pacific Northwest is home to many different artists with a wide variety of mediums. Some of the most cutting edge art has come out of areas like Washington and Oregon, inspiring minds and kids to try something new. A pair from the Pacific Northwest, the duo Stallman (Jason Hallman and Stephen Stum), have created art using a traditional median, canvas, and created in a new way. The two make sculptures out of canvas. These abstract art works use a variety of colors and canvases that are placed on their edges to create swirling masterpieces. They have named this type of artwork “Canvas on Edge”. The two artists view the creation of their work as utilizing two people who employ different sides of their minds. One is a right mind person while the other is a left mind person. No matter how they do it, the work they produce is stunning.
