Nobody really wants people staring at them when reading a book, but everyone seemed to make an exception for others wanted to look at this amazing library!
This gigantic library is designed with an enormous spherical auditorium smack dab in the middle.
The library is located at Tianjin in the Binhai Cultural District. This is a 5-story structure that was designed by a Dutch design firm called MVRDV along with the Tianjin Urban Planning and Design Institute. This library covers 34,000 square metres and houses 1.2 million books. The floors are divided into different areas from reading rooms to computer rooms. It took 3 years for the entire project to be completed.
Turns out, most of these futuristic-looking floor to ceiling shelves are painted to look like they’re full of books, but in reality, much of the covers in the hall are printed images. The real books are stored in other rooms in the building.
