Next Office is an architectural firm that has constructed a one of a kind home in Tehran, Iran. The Sharifi-ha House is four stories high and features some truly innovative designs.
Each room has the ability to rotate 90 degrees for more suitable lighting and privacy. Windows can either face completely inside or more outwards depending on the mood of the homeowner.
Completed in 2013, the design and purpose actually call back to the history of architecture in Iran. Old mansions would more often than not have summer and winter rooms that allowed owners to move around depending on the seasons and weather. Now the rooms themselves move rather than the people. Now with just the push of a button, a single home can rotate its rooms to accommodate their needs. Summer months can make the most of the extended daylight and sunshine by allowing the wide terrace to be awash with light. For the colder and darker winters, the rooms can rotate inwards for the comfort of the owners.
