Artist Creates Moving Steampunk Animal Sculptures From Old Car Parts

“At heart, I’m an artist and see the beauty of this world in bright colors, but I’m a technician, too. The combination of these two qualities has led to the creation of metal models”

Russian artist Igor Verniy has managed to create truly spectacular works of art using an old compartment from spare parts and junk. Working the metal objects into steampunk-inspired animals is no easy feat, yet one that Verniy manages to do with great success – certain parts move, bringing the already detailed sculpture to life.

He begins by studying the real-life counterpart of the animal he plans to recreate, to get its movements and image down. He then proceeds to construct them with the most suitable materials he can find. These mostly scrap metal, but also include old car or bike parts, clocks, tableware, and anything else that may be suitable to use.
