He’s been in the shelter 281 days already.
Boss is a lovable 9-year-old dog with the heart of a big pup. Sadly, he was left at a shelter after his family couldn’t manage to care for him any longer.
After getting dropped off at the Atlanta Humane Society (AHS) at the beginning of last year, Boss would be unfortunate enough to spend close to 300 days in the shelter.
Thankfully, towards the end of 2016 after a strong social media campaign, the adorable pup managed to secure a forever home with a new family, who admit to falling in love with him – we can see why with such a handsome face and friendly demeanour!
“His name, Boss, fits because when we walk around the neighborhood people look at him with respect and admiration because of how dignified he looks,” Deborah Lareau, his former foster mom, explains, remembering their time together in warmer weather. “But really his name could be Cupcake … He is sweetness dog-ified.”
Boss, a Staffordshire spaniel mix, was lucky enough to find a generous donor to cover his adoption fee, helping to quicken his eventual adoption at the turn of the New Year.
UPDATE: Boss got adopted after a family came in to the shelter, met him and “fell in love,” Christina Hill of the Atlanta Humane Society told The Dodo.
