Although the typical Binishell construction process is relatively swift, Downey’s vision for the Clubhouse required seven years of meticulous development, involving multiple designers and architects.
For Downey and his wife, Susan Downey, the Clubhouse represents more than just a luxurious residence; it embodies their commitment to sustainability. As founders of the Footprint Coalition, a foundation dedicated to advancing sustainable technology, the couple sought to create a home that exemplified their environmental values. The Clubhouse stands as a monumental example of sustainable architecture, showcasing innovative design while minimizing its ecological footprint.
