The recently constructed One Za’abeel mixed-used complex in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, crafted by Japanese design firm Nikken Sekkei, features the world’s longest cantilever, spanning 66 meters above the city. The development consists of two elegant skyscrapers (the Tower and The Residences) connected by an enclosed horizontal bridge called The Link. It holds a number of restaurants and bars, an observation deck, gym, spa, pool, banquet hall, and a rooftop terrace.

The two towers – One Za’abeel Tower and One Za’abeel The Residences – respectively 300 and 235 meters high, the first with 68 floors and the second with 58, offer a range of extra-luxury amenities aiming to attract a high-profile international clientèle. Located at a crossroads between the old and new city, the project is in close proximity to Dubai’s International Financial Centre, the International Airport, and the Gold Souks of Deira. One Za’abeel aims to foster a vibrant community catering to residents and global visitors, with a diverse offering of dining options, retail outlets, office spaces, and distinctive urban hotel experiences. ‘One Za’abeel is now the first building that greets visitors as they travel from the airport to the city centre, and will be the last sight as they leave. We wanted to create an elegant building that both represented the spirit of Dubai and provided a strong gateway for the city,’ describes Kokona Nakamura, Chief Architect of Nikken Sekkei Ltd.
The One Za’abeel Tower houses state-of-the-art workspaces, exclusive penthouses, the One&Only resort, One&Only Private Homes residential solutions, and the SIRO Hotel, which integrates holistic advanced fitness proposals into the hospitality concept. On the other hand, refined design and contemporary elegance distinguish the 264 panoramic and ultra-luxury apartments located within the One Za’abeel The Residences tower.
