With extensive research conducted by Dr. Hollins, he found out that Jonathan the Tortoise at the very youngest is at 160 years old and at the oldest is at 180 years old. Generally, the life expectancy for tortoise is 150 years, but Jonathan proves that he can beat the odds.

Is Jonathan the oldest Tortoise ever recorded?
No. Jonathan is the living tortoise known for his old age, but he is not the oldest animal of his type ever recorded. A tortoise from India who lived 250 years is said to be the oldest Tortoise recorded in the animal history which means Jonathan could still have the chance to live longer. Any time of day, the old guy could die, but people are hoping that this last remaining tortoise of his ancestry have many more years of life.
