Kakslauttanen, Finland, is home to the majestic Igloo Village. While it sounds like something from a fairy tale, it’s actually a resort where guests can enjoy a view of millions of stars the breath-taking northern lights from the comforts of a glass igloo.
Each igloo features the latest technology, including specially designed thermal glass and years of careful planning. Asa result, each igloo has a view of the skies above that will never get interrupted from the outside elements, where temperatures can reach under -30°C.
Better still, each igloo features all the modern amenities, including a working toilet and luxury beds. Guests can enjoy a soak in the hot sauna each evening, and there is also access to an ice hole. The resort features 20 igloos in total, with 60 beds between them.
Additionally, the resort also features a snow restaurant that can seat up to 150 people, an ice art gallery with ice sculptures, and even a snow chapel for anyone looking to get hitched in the picturesque Igloo Village.
The village opens for business during the winter season in December and January, and will, weather permitting, remain open until the end of April.
