Not many people were aware of just what the Kentucky Reining Cup was. That was until recently. The competition aims to find the best trained ranch horses and riders, with routines being showcased to display the skills and talents of both horse and rider, and it has taken the internet by storm after a Frozen-themed routine went viral.
Laura Sumrall was the contender in question, and went on to win the World Freestyle Reining champion. She and her horse Wimpys Top Model performed a routine along to the famous song of Disney’s animated feature Frozen, which also saw Laura adorn popular princess Elsa’s blue gown.
A student of Texas A&M University, Laura is the senior caption for the female equestrian team, and clearly knows her way around the ranch as evidenced by her seamless performance alongside her trusted horse.
Frozen fever as rarely shown signs of subsiding, having become one of the most successful animated films of all time. Girls across the world have fallen in love with the charming world and characters of Frozen, so it makes perfect sense that the video of Laura’s performance has captured the imagination of millions.
“I’ve inspired a lot of little girls to really go out there and ride their ponies which makes me really happy,” Laura says.
